There are a number of courses available during the winter

Girls 8-14 years / Weydon School / 5 sundays Nov / Dec / cost £30
Boys and Girls 8-10 years / George Abboot School Guildford / 10 sundays Oct to Dec or
10 Saturdays starting January / Cost £100
Boys and Girls 11-16 years / Ewell College / 10 saturdays from September / cost £130

Unfortunately our accuracy of our bowling disappeared last night and we lost by 9 runs chasing a target of 127; we bowled 20 wides (to their 8) and sometimes made their batting look much better than it is by bowling too short. Casper and Hickie so nearly got us there (partnership 69) but we never got on top of the over rate because their two opening bowlers bowled a very tight line. So despite being the better all round side on paper we had an off-day; perhaps it wasn't a good thing to have thrashed Yateley the day before.
So focus is now on tomorrow's game against Basingstoke.

MESSAGE FOR ALL JUNIOR SECTION MEMBERS.
I would like to welcome you to our 2008 season which starts on 9th May at 6.30pm. Registraton has been very hectic this year with most of our groups completely full.
I hope that the weather is kinder this year - however in the event of bad weather you should receive an email stating that cricket is off. Sometimes I gather emails do not arrive so please always check the website for info...www.rowledgecricketclub.com. Also on the website are listed all our club policies and I ask that you read them (when you have a a bit of spare time!)
I am sure on behalf of everyone I would like to thank our coaches and group leaders for all the work they do - everyone of them is a volunteer, they do a fantastic job and give up a huge amount of time to benefit our youngsters.
You will shortly be receiving an email detailing the dates that we would like you to help. I hope this year to have a reminder sent to you a few days before. If you cannot make the dates you have been allocated please arrange to swap with someone else on the rota - this will be on the club notice board. Please don't contact me!
Some of you will notice that you are helping a few more times than you originally offered - this is because we had insufficient offers to help for certain groups on certain dates.
This year I hope to start an under 9 girls group at the Rec on a Friday. I hope that this will be the start of the formation of a girls team to play eventually in league matches.
We are also contemplating organising a social event at the end of the season. This would be raising funds for the club and a local charity. If anyone is interested in helping please let me know - this will be offset against other volunteering duties!!!
