Chairmans' Welcome letter for 2017

A warm welcome to our 2017 season!

It’s that time of year again for our online registration.  I will be writing to everyone shortly explaining more of our plans for the year including the range of benefits and events available for club members.

It only feels like yesterday we were having Xmas and New year, but we are only a couple of months before cricket gets underway again, and I know I am excited to feel that warmer weather and lighter evenings while watching cricket at all our grounds.

nAT west Day SAturday 1st APril 2017

A big thank you to all of those who came to our Nat West day on Saturday 1st April.

A total of 35 hardy souls came throughout the day and all the jobs were completed ready for the Cricket season to start.

Considering the afternoon rain, it was a great effort from all.

Once again a huge. 'Thank you' to you all from Chris and the Committee of the Club

Calling local women cricketers – we need you!

The Rowledge Women’s XI are looking for new players to join their team playing in this summer’s Surrey Trust League Gold Division. Are you an experienced player who’s taken time out? Or new to the area and want to play again? Or do you play at school and want to get involved in club cricket?

We are a friendly, social team, looking to increase our numbers to ensure we can continue to compete in the League this summer. Matches are played on a Sunday afternoon, with training on Tuesdays. Players need to be over 13 years old.

If you are interested, please contact Carl Baker: / 07768325701

Presidents Pint Prize

The new President David is having a new free Presidents pint prize for any league match for anyone who get a fiver or 75 runs + in a Saturday league game.

This will be for all the three teams but must be drunk at the Club on the night of the achievement.

Go for it everyone and all have a great season.

Best of luck.

Rowledge Recreation Ground-Procedure to Hire

Community use of the Recreation Ground is encouraged by both Rowledge Cricket Club (RCC) and the Rowledge Recreation Facilities Consultative Committee (RRFCC). The Committees are pleased to note a year on year increase in use by community groups including nursery schools, cubs, scouts and what has recently become annual use by Surrey and Hampshire schools for inter schools sports tournaments since WBC granted the Lease in 2011.

The Committees agree the Rec is an exceptional community asset and with completion of RCC’s drainage project, expected at the end of summer 2016, we should look forward to more community use going forward.

If you or your organisation would like to become a Permitted User or Hirer, using the Pavilion or Rec for functions or for club or business purposes an application should be made to RCC Events Manager, Haidee Goodwin, who will guide you through contractual arrangements, insurance and licence requirements. You can contact Haidee on

Please note - If applicable to use all hire fees are kept separate to RCC income and are spent on Recreation Ground projects agreed by WBC.
